PakCanoes are heavy-duty expedition-grade folding canoes which can be used to carry heavy loads in both flatwater and whitewater. They can be transported and stored in a single duffel bag, and assembled in 25-30 minutes. They are much lighter than Royalex hardshell canoes, but PakCanoes have survived conditions that have severely damaged Royalex canoes. |

The flexible hull provides some interesting performance characteristics. The rigid frame prevents hull flex ("oilcanning") in small waves, yet allows the bow to rise over large waves and out of holes in whitewater, resulting in a much drier ride compared to a hardshell canoe. |

Ease of repair: the hull can be repaired temporarily using duct tape, or permanently using a glued patch. Individual frame pieces can be straightened, splinted, or replaced if damaged. For more extensive repairs, the hull can be sent to the manufacturer at much less cost than for a hardshell canoe. |

Pakboats has completely re-designed their PackCanoe spraydecks for 2005. They are now expedition-grade decks featuring a rapid lacing system which can be adapted to different canoe widths and load heights. The decks also feature wave deflection hoops, paddle pockets, and painter line pockets, and are reinforced at the gunwales. They fit 160, 165, and 170 PakCanoes. |

New for 2005. The PakCanoe 165 is the newest addition to the Pakboats line, and is a highly versatile expedition canoe. It is a stretched version of the 150 (being 18” longer at the center) and can therefore be used as a very high-capacity solo canoe (830 lbs), which can also be converted to tandem use. It provides better speed and tracking in flatwater than the 150, but conversely is less maneuverable in whitewater. It is best used with weight in the center (solo paddler, or approximately 100 lbs of cargo). |

The PakCanoe 150 (along with the 165) is a highly versatile expedition canoe. It performs well as a high-capacity solo canoe (150, Left), and is better suited for tandem use (150T, Right) than the 140T due to its greater carrying capacity (650 lbs for the 150T versus 450 lbs for the 140T). It is not as fast as the 165, but is more maneuverable in whitewater.

The PakCanoe 170 is Pakboats' largest-capacity canoe (910 lbs). Its large central cargo area is 20" longer between the thwarts than that of the PakCanoe 160. It has proven itself in numerous difficult expeditions in Canada's north and around the world (see Testimonials). It is intended for carrying heavy loads and tends to be susceptible to wind if paddled without cargo. |
Le canot PakCanoe 170 est le canot de Pakboats ayant la plus grande capacité de charge (910 livres). Sa grande partie central mesure 20" de plus entre les barrots que celle du PakCanoe 160.
