Recently returned from the Snake River in the Yukon. It was very low and boy did we trash our canoes. First, I have to say that your boats are incredible. We literally trashed a Royalex Dagger Legend. The bow split open in several places. One Royalex Dagger Venture showed considerable abuse too--deep gouges and cuts with the spongy interior substrate showing. Each night we would turn over the folding canoe (Canada Portable Kayaks note: the canoe was a PakCanoe 170), and with much trepidation, look for "the damage" and an area to repair. There was none. Other than a few scratches--which you really had to look for--this boat came through with flying colors. Frankly, we couldn't believe how well these canoes take abuse. They are much more durable than any hard boat I've paddled. Seeing is believing. I am impressed! Anyone who thinks your boats aren't tough enough for a mean expedition, should contact me. I might add that your canoe was the fastest of the bunch and it turned quickly, even with a load. My friend, Jim Mandle, who is very experienced, paddled it almost exclusively with another man who was simply awful. Jim told me that your boat was so forgiving, that it saved the day on many occasions.

Nous sommes récemment retournés de la rivière Snake, dans le Yukon. Elle était très basse et nous avons beaucoup endommagé nos canots. Je dois débuter en disant que vos bateaux sont incroyables. Nous avons sérieusement endommagé un canot Legend de Dagger, construit de Royalex. La proue s'est ouverte à quelques endroits. Un canot Venture de Dagger, aussi construit de Royalex, a aussi démontré beaucoup d'abus - de profondes égratignures et coupures, avec la couche intérieure de mousse qui était visible. Chaque nuit, nous retournions le canot démontable (note de Kayaks portatifs Canada: le canot était un PakCanoe 170) avec beaucoup d'hésitation, en cherchant pour des endroits endommagés qui devraient être réparés. Il n'y en avait aucun. Autre que quelques égratignures - qui étaient difficiles à trouver - ce bateau s'en est sorti à merveille. Franchement, nous ne pouvions pas croire à quel point ces canots pouvaient résister aux abus. Ils sont beaucoup plus robustes que n'importe quel bateau à coque rigide que j'ai pagayé. Il faut le voir pour le croire. Je suis impressioné! N'importe-qui qui pense que vos bateaux ne sont pas assez solides pour une difficile expédition, devrait me contacter. J'ajouterais que votre canot était le plus rapide du groupe et il maneuvrait rapidement, même avec une charge. Mon ami, Jim Mandle, qui a beaucoup d'expérience, l'a pagayé presque exclusivement avec un autre homme qui avait beaucoup de difficulté. Jim m'a dit que votre bateau pardonnait tellement bien, qu'il a sauvé la situation à bien des occasions. |
