In answer to your questions about my impressions from using the PakCanoe, which was their 17 foot model on the Snake, it is one hell of a canoe. I was a bit unsure about using it for the first time on such a remote adventure, especially when Cliff handed me the duffel bag of parts and said he forgot to bring the directions and had only put the canoe together once himself with Susie his wife, but we figured it out quickly and the first night before the trip down the Snake, I played and did some FreeStyle strokes with the canoe solo on Duo Lake and was immediately impressed with how stable the boat was and how quickly it responded. I've paddled all kinds of white water, FreeStyle and classic wood and canvas canoes both solo and tandem and I was very impressed. It is just stiff enough, yet forgiving when going over rocks and obstacles in the white water sections of the river.

As for speed, I am not a big person, yet I was always out in front of the pack with this canoe. It is much faster than the Dagger boats that Cliff trucked up from his home.

What was most amazing to me, was how much abuse the canoe took on this trip and yet when we turned it over each night there was not even a significant scratch on the bottom. In contrast, Cliff will tell you how two of his hard-shell boats were trashed out and had to be repaired when he got home.

Hope this helps. In summary having already 13 canoes of various types, I am planning after having used the PakCanoe on the Snake to add one to my fleet for more wilderness adventures.

En réponse à tes questions concernant mes impressions après utilisation du PakCanoe, qui était le modèle de 17 pieds sur le rivière Snake, c'est un canot fantastique. J'étais un peu incertain de l'utiliser pour la première fois pour un voyage en région si éloignée, particulièrement lorsque Cliff me donna un sac plein de pièces et m'expliqua qu'il avait oublié d'apporter les instructions et qu'il avait seulement assemblé le canot une fois avec son épouse Susie, mais nous avons compris rapidement comment l'assembler. La première nuit avant notre voyage sur la rivière Snake, j'ai joué et j'ai pratiqué mes coups de pagaie "FreeStyle" à bord du canot en solo sur le lac Duo, et je fut immédiatement impressioné par sa stabilité et sa vitesse de réponse. J'ai pagayé dans toutes sortes d'eau vive en FreeStyle, dans des canots classiques en bois et en canevas, solo et tandem, et je fut très impressioné. Il a juste la bonne rigidité, mais il pardonne bien lorsque qu'il passe par-dessus les rochers et les obstacles dans les sections d'eau vive de la rivière.

En ce qui a trait a sa vitesse, je ne suis pas une personne de grande taille, mais j'étais toujours à l'avant du groupe avec ce canot. Il est beaucoup plus rapide que les canots de Dagger que Cliff a transporté de sa maison.

Ce qui m'a le plus impressioné, c'est a quel point le canot a été abusé sur cette expédition, et pourtant lorsque nous le retournions à chaque nuit, il n'y avait même pas d'égratignure importante sur la coque. En contraste, Cliff t'expliquera que deux de ses bateaux à coque rigide ont été très endommagés et ont dus être réparés à notre retour à la maison.

J'espère que ceci t'est utile. Pour récapituler, je possède déjà 13 canots de divers modèles, et je planifie, après avoir utilisé le PakCanoe sur la rivière Snake, en ajouter un à ma flotte pour d'autres voyages dans les régions éloignées.
